The Extended Day program seeks to best serve the needs of our parents and their children after regular school hours. The program allows time for indoor and outdoor play, homework, snack, and special activities in a caring and supportive atmosphere. Activities include arts & crafts swimming, cooking, and indoor/outdoor games.
Time of dismissal (11:20 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.) until 6:00 p.m.
Junior Kindergarten (JK) - Grade 8
Time of dismissal until 6:00 p.m.
Students enrolled in the Extended Day program have the opportunity to participate in all after school activities that they register for, some with extra fees.Non-School Days
For an additional fee, care is available during Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and Professional Development Days featuring a variety of age appropriate excursions and recreational activities.
The Extended Day Program is fully licensed by the State of Hawaii’s Department of Human Services.
Licensing requires LJA to maintain a staff to child ratio of 1:20. The ratio is often lower, as many children participate in after school activities on campus or are enrolled on a part-time basis and attend fewer than five days a week. The Main Campus Extended Day program can serve 160 students over five years of age and under thirteen years of age.
