60 Years and Counting
2021 marks Le Jardin Academy’s 60th anniversary. From its humble beginnings as a single-room preschool in 1961, LJA has grown to become a leader in education and the windward community’s premier PK-12 independent school.
Our evolution has been brisk--punctuated by momentous achievements, including a move to our scenic 24-acre campus in 1999, our first graduating class in 2006, the addition of the High School and Gym buildings in 2008, followed by our transition to becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Since awarding its first IB diplomas in 2013, LJA has further distinguished its program by creating an environment that celebrates uniqueness and promotes individual voice, choice and agency at all stages of learning. We cultivate knowledgeable, responsible, and caring young people of character who help to create a more peaceful and sustainable world through understanding, stewardship, and respect--and do so proudly. This is our moment--to sustain LJA's growth and momentum--now and into the future!
We are still really close with friends and families from LJA that are like family. Today, LJA continues to thrive in providing the caring and nurturing environment that we love for our kids and our family is still connected to LJA in many ways. We love LJA! Happy 60th Anniversary!
