Congratulations to Jovelle Lucas '20 who won the title of Miss Oahu, along with a $1,000 scholarship. Jovelle will be competing in Miss Hawaii 2020 in May.

Her platform was Eco-Sustainable Fashion, and she won an award for best talent with her contemporary dance rendition of "Fall In Line," about women's empowerment.

"I'm so excited to represent our community and become more heavily involved in making a difference," says Jovelle.

LJA hosted a FIRST Lego League District Tournament this past Monday, and our Grade 4-5 team the "Chubby Chickens" ranked 2nd in the robot games. LJA's "Ducks of Destiny" also performed well in the games and impressed the judges with their innovative project and teaming. LJA was invited to participate in the State Championship on Dec. 7 at the Blaisdell Center from 7:30 am.-3:30 p.m. Come out to support our team!

Congratulations to our cross country athletes who participated in the state championships in Maui last weekend! State qualifiers include Cole Barnes, Aya Lewis, Elena Piette, Hannah Robinson, Dante Sbarbaro, Ginny Williams. A special congrats to Aya Lewis who placed 6th in state!
