Celebrating 65 Years
2026 marks Le Jardin Academy’s 65th anniversary. From its humble beginnings as a one-room preschool in 1961, LJA thrives today as a leader in IB education and Hawai‘i's only PK-12 International Baccalaureate World School.
LJA's evolution has been brisk--punctuated by momentous achievements, including a move to our scenic 24-acre campus in 1999, our first graduating class in 2006, the addition of the High School and Gym buildings in 2008, followed by our transition to becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Since awarding its first IB diplomas in 2013, LJA has further distinguished its program by creating an environment where students and known, seen, and valued for their personal gifts. In a once-in-a-decade milestone, LJA recently opened its Arts & Innovation Center and welcomed its Preschool program to the main campus, representing a transformational investment in the spaces, relationships, and resources that empower artists, innovators, and future-ready learners.
Today, The LJA Way is what sets us apart. It is our commitment to developing students who are not only academically accomplished, but also courageous, compassionate, and adaptable—young people who ask thoughtful questions, embrace challenges, collaborate across differences, and lead with integrity. Through personalized learning, global perspectives, meaningful relationships, and authentic experiences, our students discover who they are, what they value, and how they can make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
As we celebrate 65 years of excellence, community, and innovation, we also celebrate the extraordinary community that have made this journey possible. Together, we are becoming the LJA of the future. We are still really close with friends and families from LJA that are like family. Today, LJA continues to thrive in providing the caring and nurturing environment that we love for our kids and our family is still connected to LJA in many ways. We love LJA! Happy 60th Anniversary!
