Blueprint 2030

In September 2023, the Board of Trustees approved Blueprint 2030, a new strategic plan and roadmap for LJA’s next seven years of growth. The plan, grounded in hana pono, is the culmination of the hard work of a diverse group of stakeholders, including parents, students, faculty, administrators and alumni, who collaborated closely during the 2022-23 school year to determine the top priorities of the plan. This document details the four main strategic priorities, along with their specific objectives and ways to measure progress.

Four priorities were chosen based on findings from LJA’s WASC/HAIS and IB reports following a comprehensive self-study and evaluation, as well as feedback from faculty, the Learning Community Council (LCC), Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) and students as to what matters most to our community. These priorities will guide our operational goals, and success measures will be monitored and reported annually to stakeholders.

We envision an inclusive and open-minded community reflecting a diverse range of learners who are embraced and supported by a culture of access, belonging, mutual respect, and enrichment, and who experience growth socially, emotionally and academically.

We envision a shared culture of a learning community where learners cultivate agency through personalization, sense of self, sense of others and sense of place. The learning process is achieved through embracing differences and flexible approaches by being compassionate and valuing different perspectives.

We envision thriving as a world-renowned learning community known for innovative programs that transcend traditional educational models, emphasizing learner agency, cultivating community and global partnerships, and inspiring diverse passions which lead to lasting impact.

We envision a learning community anchored in gratitude, empathy and aloha with the skills and mindset to connect to the human and nonhuman members of our community, a deep sense of kuleana that can be observed in consistent and sustained community action and extraordinary learning experiences.
