Theater

LJA’s theater program is offered in Grades 6-12 and focuses on collaborative problem-solving, student-created original work, and the craft of playwriting. Our goal is to produce innovative, collaborative thinkers who work independently as well as collaboratively and then apply the skills gained through this arts experience to any other endeavor they take on.

LJA students are well-known in the larger theater community for writing award-winning plays and for writing and producing a full-length original large-cast play every year. Several students participate in outside playwriting contests as well.

An extracurricular program for students in Grades 6-12 offers an opportunity to perform, work on scriptwriting, and assist in the design and creation of production elements such as costumes, sets, props, makeup, sound, lighting, and projections.
