Homestay Program

Le Jardin Academy’s homestay program offers international students the chance to experience Hawai'i living.

Students are immersed in the English language and the local lifestyle and customs. Participating in the homestay program gives students a real “family” opportunity where they are included in their host’s daily routines, traditions, and family events.

Eligibility

The homestay program is open to international applicants who are not a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
Le Jardin Academy will provide an I-20 and Homestay for international students in Grades 9-12. International applicants in grades K - 8 may apply and will need proper documentation of U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or other visa.
Le Jardin Academy does not have an English Language Support Learning (ESL) program. Students must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.

Procedures

Submit an online application through My School App
Submit a copy of your passport to the admissions office and allow 2 weeks to receive your I-20. You will need your I-20 to apply for the F-1 Visa and to enter the U.S. You may only enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the start date of school with the Form I-20.
Complete Guardianship Form if the student plans to live with a guardian other than a relative.
Complete Homestay Application if in need of housing
Complete Parent Summary Form.
Submit Math and Language Arts Teacher Reference Form
Standardized Testing: Students are required to take the SSAT and can register at www.ssat.org
Zoom Interview. Once the application, fees, and additional documents are submitted, the admissions department will schedule an interview via Zoom.
Current and prior year’s report cards must be submitted.
