COVID UPDATE: The ILH has approved an off-season conditioning period on a school by school basis. This means that as soon as LJA returns to Level 1+, practices and/or conditioning programs can be held through December 31, 2020. Most workouts will take place on campus and are contingent upon a few factors such as coach and facility availability. This period is called the ‘white period’ and comes with a few restrictions:
Athletes are limited to 3 practices a week for no more than 2 hours per session
Workouts are voluntary; team selections will not be made during this period
COVID protocols must be followed
Your coach will share more expectations soon if your team is able to practice. Updated Sports Physical Forms are required in order to participate.
Interscholastic athletics are an integral part of the educational process at LJA. We believe that broadening experience creates harmony between team, sound, soul, and heart. Our aim is to develop a competitive athletic program without losing sight of values such as sportsmanship, health, and academic achievement. Guiding the team to achieve maximum potential is our ultimate goal.
LJA is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and the Hawaii High School Athletics Association (HHSAA).
We put our focus and energy into the process, as opposed to the product. It's imperative that we teach our athletes about life lessons through sports, emphasizing the tangible tools they can take with them after the season ends.
