Message from the Athletic Director
Aloha Bulldog Families!
Welcome to a new calendar year. We are excited to see what 2020 has in store for us. The LJA Athletic Department hopes everyone had a restful break and enjoyed spending time with loved ones.
As a gentle reminder, if concerns or questions arise regarding any part of the sports program at the school, please feel free to send me an email (jana.fraser@lejardinacademy.org) or make an appointment to come in and have a conversation. If a frustrating situation arises, there may be more to the background context than is initially obvious and if those details are relevant and can be shared, I am more than happy to do so. I have an open door policy and my goal is for all of our participants to have a positive athletic experience as a Bulldog. Please come see me!
-Athletic Director, Jana Fraser

Uniform Reminder Please be sure to turn in your school issued uniform (s) at the end of the season. It is your responsibility to make sure your coach receives it. If the uniform is not collected, the family will be charged for the cost of the replacement. Thank you for your diligence in this matter.
There are a few exceptions to this because the following sports pay for their uniform and therefor keep it at the end of the season. These sports include: tennis, water polo, swimming, paddling, kayaking and golf.
Winter sports have either recently completed for intermediate, or just beginning for the varsity teams. They will wrap up at the end of January/beginning of February, then it will be on to the Spring season. Most of the following Spring sports start on Feb. 10th (with the exception of intermediate baseball starting on Jan. 27th and softball which start Feb 3rd). However, there are some teams doing off season conditioning starting next week, after I-Term.

Meet our Coaches Scotty Freitas is the head boys varsity canoe paddling coach. This is his second year coaching at LJA but is no stranger to the paddling community! He is also the head of Lanikai Canoe Club and is in constant search of championships for the summer regatta and long distance seasons. Those are both outside of the high school season that our LJA student athletes compete in which is currently in progress. In addition to coaching, Coach Freitas has also found success in paddling with Lanikai's men's 50 and older crew, earning numerous consecutive state championships there as well. With more than 40 years of paddling experience, we are fortunate to have the expertise of Coach Freitas on staff.
