Message from the Athletic Director
Aloha Bulldog Families! I wanted to share a bit on ILH participation eligibility. A student in 7th, 8th or 9th grade is eligible to participate at the Intermediate level of athletic activity. A student in grades 9th, 10th and 11th is eligible to participate at the Junior Varsity level. A student in grades 9-12 is eligible to participate at the Varsity level. Once a student has participated at the Varsity or Junior Varsity levels, that student is not allowed to participate at a lower level. There are a few exceptions which are identified in the operating procedures of those sports. Once a student participates in a HHSAA state tournament, they can only participate at that level of that specific sport in the future.

Sports Facts An amazing 60 percent of people that play soccer outdoors are under the age of 18. Outdoor soccer is the second most popular sport for students under the age of 13 years, after gymnastics. However, in the much talked about disconnect between playing and watching, only 20.5 percent of those who play outdoor soccer are really into Major League Soccer.

Meet our Coaches Coach Kyle has always been a waterman. He spent his youth paddling competitively and surfing for fun. Kyle has traveled around the world surfing with his family seeking out surf spots and sharing his love of the ocean with his sons. When he first heard that LJA had one of only 8 high school surf teams, on Oahu, he knew he wanted to be involved. The focus of the LJA team is on competing, and the value of surf culture and history; reflecting on the benefits that surfing provides both physically and mentally. "Besides my family, the LJA surf team are my favorite people to share the water with. I want to make sure they know that their community recognizes their positive attitudes and athletic ability, by supporting them in their passion for surfing"
