Swimming Update Final notes from Coach Joe Glenn- All the meets are concluded, and we had a great final meet of the season at the HHSAA championships in Kihei, Maui. Alana Barthel (100 backstroke) pictured right, and Thomas Caps (100 breast stroke) pictured right, led the charge in winning state titles while Ethan Ravelo (top of page picture) had an extremely exciting race in the 100 back finishing runner-up, all in new school records. Thomas and Alana scored All American honors (the first two All American's in the school's history) and Alana broke an 11 year old state record in the process. Alana (4th place, 100 free) Ethan (5th place 100 free) and Catie Ferandin (6th place- 200 free) also scored medals). In the team standings the girls had their highest team finish ever winning 6th place, and the boys finished 7th overall. The boys relays of Thomas Caps, Logan Lefforge, Marcus Webster and Ethan Ravelo made significant time drops in both the 200 medley and 200 free relays, moving up 4-5 seed spots in both events and just missing finals. The Girls 200 medley relay of Alana Barthel, Lana Ravelo, Catie Ferandin and Sarah Tarquin tied the highest finish a Le Jardin relay has ever had, taking 4th place in the 200 medley relay. The girls 400 free relay had a great swim and finished in 7th place with a team of Catie, Sarah, Lana and Skylar Webb. On an individual basis 6 of our 9 individual races ended up making finals.
