Message From The Principal
Happy Spring Into April Everyone!
Much to all of our disbelief at how fast time is flying right now, we are well underway with all of our spring-end-of-the school-year activities! Below you will find more detailed information about our annual May Day celebration which this year will be a livestreamed & recorded event. We are disappointed that we will not be able to host families on campus this year due to our continued COVID 19 safety guidelines/protocols. As of today's publication, our target date for the event and the livestreaming is May 7. More information will continue to be communicated out as we get closer to the date. Please note we will not have an early release day as we usually do after the event. Students will follow their regular class schedule before and after their grade level portion of the May Day celebration.
Other notable updates on upcoming spring events are:
Enjoy the long holiday weekend,

LJA Wellness Message By Sean Landau and Jessica Osborne
Although these useful exercises were created for teachers, we can all improve daily. Whether you are new or experienced, teaching can be a uniquely rewarding and demanding experience. Deliberately carving out time in each day where you can take a moment to care for yourself can be essential to your well being. You may be feeling stressed out by a looming deadline, overwhelmed by your to-do list, or overly self-critical. We hope this little book of mindfulness tips can help remind you to take a breath, be kind to yourself and just do the best you can with this moment.

Travel Policy
Student travel procedure--approved by the Medical Hui--is in effect as long as the State allows a pre-travel COVID test for Mainland or International* travelers:
Student registers planned travel through designated division representative Student takes approved, pre-travel PCR test and registers through the State app With a negative, pre-travel PCR test and a second, negative, on-island PCR or antigen test 5-7 days following return to O'ahu, the student will be permitted to return to campus without condition. Until these results are known, the student will not be permitted on campus and should remain at home. If a student has a positive antigen test, then he/she would follow-up with a PCR test to verify the result, and, if positive, would follow COVID procedure. This procedure is intended to shorten the amount of time that students must learn remotely following travel relative to the 14-day quarantine alternative. If you have any questions, please email school.nurse@lejardinacademy.org.
*Neighbor island travelers will be expected to comply with current County and State regulations for travel and testing, and procedures may vary by island. Visit https://hidot.hawaii.gov/coronavirus/ for details.
