PICTURES FROM THE WEEK Grade 3 started selling their goods and services this week in the Marketplace as part of their economics unit. In this unit, students learn about concepts like money, scarcity, resources, decision making, and supply and demand as they design their own businesses. During marketplace, students are experimenting, reflecting, and making adjustments each day to their investments, the pricing of their good or service, and advertising. Students are also learning important lessons around spending and saving as consumers in the Marketplace.
Grade 4 has started their "How the World Works" unit, inquiring into how over time, people's lives have been affected by earth's natural features and continual change.
With Appreciation - Thank you to Heather Pence and Hawaiian Springs Water for their generous donation of bottled water to the school. The Pence family is new to LJA and have a daughter in grade 5.
