Aloha All,
I hope everyone has been enjoying the much deserved time off to rest, recuperate and learn and grow in different ways! While teachers have spread out enjoy their summer, our Administrative team has been hard at work getting everything ready for next year already!
Individual class schedules are nearly complete, and will be sent out individually later this summer. Overall, we are maintaining much of what worked last year with our innovative Impact Blocks, the new "10-day" schedule (with Monday through Thursday staying the same each week and an A and B Friday), as well as our Clubs and Advisory rotation. One change, we are introducing "Block 10", which will be a time in the schedule for grade level meetings, social emotional learning (also known as Life skills) seminars, and electives. This block will be utilized differently by grade level and throughout the year.
Overall, our HS program remains focused on providing an authentic, rigorous IB learning environment that will equip our students to succeed in college and beyond as well as become impactful members of our community.

Pursuant to the Governor's recent order, effective June 15, 2021, vaccinated students and staff who travel out-of-state are exempt from pre-travel and post-travel testing and may return to campus immediately provided:

Magnus Health Update
ALL FAMILIES: HEALTH FORMS – CRUCIAL FOR ATTENDANCE
Le Jardin Academy uses a web-based system called Magnus Health to manage student health forms. Magnus Health can be accessed directly through the Parent Portal. Log onto lejardinacademy.myschoolapp.com and click on the Magnus Health icon.
New families should allow 20 to 30 minutes per student to fill out the entire set of forms and upload paper forms as required. Each year, parents will login and confirm or update each child's record. For returning families, most data entered into Magnus previously will only need to be confirmed or updated if changed, including immunizations records.
You will receive an email by July 2, providing directions to access Magnus Health. Please enter the health information required within your Magnus Health account for each child attending Le Jardin Academy no later than July 22.

SMART TUITION
Please remember to sign into the SMART Tuition paperless billing and payment system. This is located in the Resources tab in the Parent Portal. This is the same portal where you signed enrollment contracts. If you have difficulty logging in or need a password reset please email melissa.handy@lejardinacademy.org

Lunch orders will be taken beginning August 4th. The information will be accessible from the Parent Portal (lejardinacademy.myschoolapp.com).

Following the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) Athletic Directors workshops, and in conjunction with the Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA), all are prepared to proceed with athletics as traditionally scheduled prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, with necessary accommodations as needed to provide a safe environment for participation. As the necessary accommodations and safety protocols are shared with the member schools approaching the athletic seasons, we will share that information with all participants.
The Athletic participation form is an annual form that needs to be completed by a physician in order to practice or compete in ILH sports. The LJA Athletic Department is moving away from accepting these forms all year long, to a summer due date similar to when other school health forms are uploaded into the Magnus Health system. This is partially due to a mandate by the ILH office of a 4 day waiting period for athletes whose forms expire or are turned in late during the season. Observing this policy has been problematic in the past, and resulted in some athletes having to miss competitions. Please have your completed Sports Participation form (which can be downloaded at Sports Participation Form '21-'22) completed by the first day of school, or for fall athletes prior to the first day of practice. Beginning July 1, 2021 the completed form can be uploaded to Magnus Health link via the LJA website.
If you find yourself in the position where a second sports physical is needed, here are a few options with associated charges that may be less costly than going through your Primary Care Physician.
