No School Monday, September, 6, 2021 Boyden sisters catching up
Principal's Message by Alex Ramsvig, HS Principal
September 2, 2021
Aloha All,
We have had another successful full week at LJA! As we move deeper into the semester, more of our "normal" routines are setting in and our beginning of the year programs will continue to morph into their regular form.
Students were sent the LJA HS Clubs and Electives catalog last week and parents can view it here. Please take some time to look through these great offerings, many of which are new this year. Most of these will begin next week. If you have any questions, please email the Dean of Experiential Education Christina Hoe at: christina.hoe@lejardinacademy.org
I would like to thank our community for efforts already this year around our COVID protocols. In particular, students are improving with their daily self screening although reminders from parents are always welcome!
Have a wonderful week and a relaxing long weekend.
Alex

We pick a book and read it aloud one night a week until it is finished. We bring in dynamic speakers to share first hand accounts that relate to the book we are reading. It is the perfect way to end an evening with a great story from the comfort of your home. Interested in joining us? Please SIGN UP on this quick survey to join. We plan on starting either Sept 15 or 16 based on the votes.
High School Drop Off STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICKUP
High School students should be dropped off and picked up at the designated area for the HS. In order to assist with traffic flow, please avoid stopping in the main driveway loop. Drivers should not exit their vehicle and please do not stop along the student locker areas until you have pulled all the way forward to the crosswalk just before the large mural (or until the car in front of you stops). Drivers are also asked not to drive through the gravel student parking lot during the drop-off or pick-up process. This creates a very unsafe situation for our student drivers parking and leaving their assigned stalls.
Under no circumstance should students be dropped off or picked up on the road leading down the hill. For safety reasons, students are not permitted to walk off campus, walk, or linger on Kapaa Quarry Road fronting the school.
While it is a mundane topic, student drop-off and pickup directly impacts student safety. Eli Omori is usually directing traffic in the morning and afternoon to ensure wait times are as short as possible. I am asking parents to remain patient and aware of students during these busy times.

Please help support the LJA Senior Class of 2022!
Every year parents and friends of the senior class of Le Jardin Academy plan and execute Project Graduation immediately following the commencement services. Project Graduation was started over 30 years ago to provide a safe, drug and alcohol free celebration for the kids on their special night. All expenses are paid through fundraising events organized by the class. This year's crew is off to a great start and already has their first fundraiser on the books.
If you missed out last year, now is your chance to purchase this custom LJA hoodie with 100% of proceeds going directly to the class of 2022 Project Grad! Adult and children's sizes available.
Thank you for your support!
Le Jardin Academy has once again partnered with Habilitat to provide fresh, beautiful Christmas trees this year. There are six different pick up spots all around the island and a wide variety of trees, wreaths and door charms. It's never too early to start thinking about Christmas and all proceeds will support the Class of '22 Project Graduation. Visit www.hawaiichristmastrees.com or scan the QR code in the flyer.
