Updates & Reminders From The Principal
Hello LJA Parents, thank you so much for attending our MS Parent Night Tuesday evening. I hope you found the information the teachers shared about their subject areas helpful. I also hope the MYP curriculum and assessment overview re-shared by Rachel Domenic, MS Academic Dean, provided some additional guidance to help support your child. For those who weren't able to attend the virtual meeting you can view a recording HERE. As mentioned last night, please don't hesitate to email or call your child's teachers directly with questions.
Lastly, a parent zoom with Head of School, Earl Kim, is scheduled for Monday, August 13 at 6:00pm. Please make time for this update on Vaccination and Testing Policy and Procedures. Click HERE to register.
Sick Policy And Attendance
If a student needs to stay home sick for a day or two they need to rest and get well. Students can email teachers for work or check Google classroom for things they may feel up to doing while out. Otherwise teachers will help catch them up when they are feeling better and return to school. We are not currently set up for Distance Learning and Zoom classes are not available. If a student is going to be out longer than a couple of days, they will need to contact the MS Office and teachers to facilitate classroom work.
Read Aloud Book Club Last Chance Last chance to sign up for the No Stress, No Prep Read Aloud Book Club! All middle school and high school students and families are welcome to join. What do we do? We pick a book and read it aloud one night a week until it is finished. We bring in dynamic speakers to share first hand accounts that relate to the book we are reading. It is the perfect way to end an evening with a great story from the comfort of your home. Interested in joining us? Please SIGN UP on this quick survey to join. We plan on starting either Sept 15 or 16 based on the votes.
