Super Strings at Le Jardin Academy 21-22 School Year

Started in the summer of 2021, Super Strings at Le Jardin Academy is for students who are interested in learning to play the violin and experiencing the joy of music through the violin. Students will learn instrumental technique, rhythmic patterns, note reading skills, listening skills, concepts of musicality, basics of group playing, improvisation, and a variety of musical styles. In addition to the time spent in class, students are expected to practice at home daily for optimal progress. Students are also expected to bring their violin, music book, and a pencil to class.

New this year is Super String’s Intermediate Violin Class for students with at least 1 year of experience. Building on the Beginning Violin Class, the Intermediate Violin Class introduces fundamentals of orchestral playing. Both classes are taught by HYS Academy String Director & Conductor, Chad Uyehara.

For the safety of our students, staff and faculty, all students 12 & older will be required to have received the COVID-19 vaccine to participate in Super Strings.  Spots are limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Sign up and reserve your spot today!

This pilot program is presented in partnership with Le Jardin Academy and the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii; as such, first priority will be given to LJA Summer School attendees and BGCH Kailua members. Class sizes will be limited with respect to this pilot and COVID-19 safety precautions. 

• Beginning Violin Class
  • Saturdays from 2:30 – 3:30 pm
  • Student ages 8+
  • No prior experience necessary
  • Instrument rental included
  • Tuition: $525.00

• Intermediate Violin Class
  • Saturdays from 3:45 – 4:45 pm
  • Students ages 8+
  • 1 year of experience or for students who took Super Strings this past summer 2021
  • Instrument rental included, if needed
  • Tuition: $525.00
