WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Danielle Scherman's connection with the Windward community began when her parent's made Kailua their home and it firmly rooted during her time as a student attending Le Jardin Academy from PK until her 8th grade graduation in 1991.

Danielle says that some of her greatest childhood memories were at LJA. She remembers the smell of French choir cookies, May Day, and singing together for the Christmas program.

"Le Jardin played a great role in my life," says Danielle. 'I made amazing lifelong friendships and have such special memories. It was a part my happy upbringing."

Danielle is as real estate agent here on Oahu. And she is the founder of the professional women's network, Social Wahines. She is also founder of the Aloha Home Market, a showcase of unique local treasures and finds that features Hawaii's finest furniture makers and artisans.

"There's a lack of marketplace options where you can access many of Hawaii's most talented in island furniture and home goods," says Danielle. "Local artisans such as furniture makers for hotels are often tucked away and you really have to hunt to find them in obscure warehouse districts. This marketplace aims to serve as a showcase for those who don't have an easily accessible retail storefront."

Join Danielle at the next Aloha Home Market on November 19 at 25 Malaniu Ave. For more information, click here.

HOMECOMING the LJA WAY

Since the first graduating Class in 2006 Le Jardin has celebrated homecoming with a flag football game between the Seniors and Juniors. Involving teachers and staff as announcers or referees. This year Class of 2018 defeated the Juniors 34-18! Students finished off the day with the Homecoming Dance at Dave and Busters. Who remembers their homecoming?
