Parent Faculty Association

May/June 2018

Can you believe it's almost Summer? Spring was action packed and your PFA representatives and room parents were busy supporting activities at LJA - Teacher Appreciation Week, Poetry Slam, ArtsFest, Principal Coffees, Bulldog Bash, Dances, May Day, the Masquerade Gala and PDD lunches. Thank you to all the parents that helped organize and made these events successful. Parents of PreK, grade 5, grade 8 and our seniors are busy planning moving up ceremonies and graduation – it's such a joyful time to celebrate the accomplishments of our kids!

Summer Shopping with Amazon

If you plan to shop on Amazon this summer, you can continue to effortlessly earn money for LJA by using the LJA Amazon Associates shopping link. Since joining the program in August 2010, LJA has earned over $56,000 – and this doesn't stop just because school is out for the summer.

Art Fest 2018

LJA families gathered on a sunny Saturday afternoon for the 2nd annual ArtsFest. Student art was on exhibit in the Wang, while local artists and LJA teachers had 'Make and Take' projects for students of all ages. Student groups performed including the Kapa'a Strummers, the Glee Club, and hula performances by grades 1,4 and 6. The evening was capped off by performances by LJA alum Hirie, Kimie Miner and John Cruz.

Masquerade Gala

If you were at the Gala this year, you probably had the time of your life!  It was great to see so many creative and mysterious masks during the night too.  This annual event, with silent auction, live music, live auction, and incredible drinks and food helped LJA exceed the fundraising goal this year.  Thank you parents, families, faculty, staff, and community for your continued support.  See you next year!
