Reminder: Junior School Picnic – Next Week September 20th!

Our annual family picnic will be held next Thursday on our Junior School playground. Please remember to bring your mats, chairs, drinks, and the potluck dish you signed up to share.  Potluck Signup Sheets will be in the classrooms. The event will run from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Please send students to school dressed in their outfit for photos. You may bring a change of clothes for afterwards. No payment or orders needed at this time. You'll be receiving proofs along with ordering information. The background color is "cloud blue."


Field Trip Information

JK will visit Kailua Library on September 21.  PK will visit the Discovery Center on September 28.  Sign-up sheets will be in your child's classroom.  Thank you to our parents who make our field trips possible.  Here are our chaperone expectations that will ensure these trips are enjoyable, educational and safe for our students. Professional Development

Madame Akina will attend the annual HiAEYC Leadership Symposium in Honolulu on September 21.

Chloe McDermott (PK Teacher) and Katie Brooks (JK Teacher) will attend an IB workshop in Japan (literacy, mathematics and symbolic learning in early years).  Mrs. Tanya Chadwick will sub for Mrs. McDermott and Ms. Mara Franzmeier for Mrs. Brooks, September 25-28.

Accessing Parent Contact Information

You can access parent contact information in your My Backpack account. The link is also located on our website under the Parent Portal. After logging in, select "parent/student contact."


After School Offerings

Registration forms for our after school offerings will be emailed to everyone on Sept. 14. The first session begins the week of Oct. 1. Please remember that all forms need to be submitted directly to the vendors.

Turn to Learn for Parents:

Twice a year, LJA host sessions in the evening at the main campus for parents to learn. Please email us at topics that interest you particularly and we will try to find experts in these fields. First session will be on October 25.
