We have Spirit Night coming up for our girls varsity volleyball team that's playing at Iolani on Tuesday September  18th, at 5pm. It will be advertised on Spectrum OC16.  Please come out to support our girls. We are returning State Champions so let's show up in numbers and cheer on our varsity team!

 Former LJA Athletes in the College Spotlight

 

 Linfield College junior Taylor Souza (c/o 2016) was named Northwest Conference Defensive Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week. In the Wildcats opening match, Souza led the team with 22 digs in the 3-0 win over New Rochelle. Linfield went on to win their second match of the day over Mills 3-0.

The following day against Illinois Tech and Johnson & Wales, Souza dug up 16 balls a piece and had two service aces. Linfield went on to win both matches and finished the Oregon Trail Classic 4-0.

First-year outside hitter Natalie Piper was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.

Piper, who made her first collegiate appearance in the North Country Invitational this past weekend, started all four matches and 14 sets on a 2-2 weekend with wins over Marywood (3-0) and Keuka (3-0). She finished the weekend with 43 kills, good for 3.07 kills per set, a .295 hitting percentage, seven service aces, 32 digs (2.29 digs/set) and nine blocks (.64 blocks/set).

 

Way to go Natalie!
