Each year, LJA kicks off the school year with an employee lunch to recognize and thank our employees celebrating milestone anniversaries (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years). Mahalo to our dedicated employees for your years of service to LJA! A special shout out to High School Principal Vicki McNeill for 25 years of service and Middle and High School Registrar Lizbeth Smith for 30 years of service!

As a tribute to Mrs. Vicki McNeill celebrating 25 years, here's a throwback pic that we found in the archives. Pictured right is Mrs. McNeill with her 1996 math class.

The market is founded by LJA alumni Danielle Scherman '95, and features furniture, art, music, food, and more. LJA will have a booth with make-and-take art for keiki at the upcoming Aloha Home Market happening Sunday, Sept. 16 from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at 340 Ulunui St.

Come by to say hello and enjoy 50 other vendor booths and performance by Nic Kalei '13.  Nic Kalei has been writing, recording and performing music since he was a young kid. He recently graduated from his dream school Berklee College of Music in Boston where he played with many bands and gigged extensively all over the city. Nic's music brings you stories channeled through Bluesy licks and folky vibes.

We started off this school year with the launch of our brand refresh. This has been a year long process that had many contributors. Click Here for details.  Email,, your mailing address and we will send you an item with our NEW logo!

Thirteen alumni joined our Wild Kids this summer in Montana backpacking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors. It was an extraordinary experience that included more than 30 current LJA students. One of the high school groups did a 72 mile trek; the middle school students experienced Montana at 10,000 feet in the Beartooth Wilderness; and everyone came home with memories that will last a lifetime.
