ANNUAL FUND LAUNCH

LJA's Annual Fund launched this week, and we invite you to join us with a gift.

Why give?

  • To supplement tuition. Tuition covers only 90% of LJA's operational budget. The Annual Fund is a critical income source to fund LJA's expenses.
  • To support us, LJA's faculty and staff! More than half of LJA's operating budget supports employee salaries and benefits. And LJA invests over $220,000 annually to professional development. The Annual Funds helps grow these numbers.
  • To elevate the LJA student learning experience. The generosity of our community ensures that LJA continues to offer a variety of programs and opportunities for students.
  • To inspire greater giving. Participation in LJA's Annual Fund sends a strong message of a shared vested interest in LJA's mission as the school seeks funding from major donors, foundations, and our greater community.

Make a gift and make a difference today!

BIATHLON MYP PERSONAL PROJECT

All Grade 10 LJA students conduct a personal project. Students choose a topic to investigate that they feel passionate about or interested in, research the topic, and then design a product or outcome to demonstrate their learning. This past Sunday, Suhana demonstrated the impact this type of project can have on her community by creating and organizing a biathlon event for our primary school students and families. Suhana's inquiry was a look at how organized sport can build self esteem and confidence in young people. The focused athleticism and smiles of the competitors and the appreciation of the families was evidence that Suhana had demonstrated effective self-management, communication and social skills to organize a highly successful and impactful event. Thank you Suhana, and all of your volunteers, for the wonderful event!
