PFA PARENT FORUM WITH CATHERINE VENTURA

Everyone is invited to attend the next PFA Parent Forum, 'Using Creativity to Support Mental Heath and Emotional Intelligence' on Jan. 17 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Wang. The workshop, led by Catherine Ventura, ATR, uses creative tools for managing emotional health. Debunk the myth of compartmentalized Left Brain vs. Right Brain thinking while you learn to identify and recognize you and your child's range of emotions. Light pupus and drinks will be provided.

As an artist, art therapist and art educator, Catherine has an extensive background in teaching and learning in diverse cultural contexts.  Drawing upon the creative arts, Catherine works with clients to develop skills for addressing the psychological, developmental, emotional and social stressors that affect health and well-being. Catherine has a BA in Visual Arts, an MA in education and an MSAT in counseling/art therapy.

MAGGIE ODOM '21 DEBUTS ORIGINAL PLAY AT OAHU FRINGE FESTIVAL

Thoughts on the Size of the Universe, an original play by Maggie Odom '21, premieres at the Oahu Fringe Festival on Jan. 11 and 12 at 6 p.m. at The ARTS at Marks Garage.

"This production is unique because it is written, acted, directed, and stage managed entirely by teenage girls. As young women, we rarely see ourselves represented realistically in film and theatre but this is an opportunity for us to give people an authentic glimpse into our lives, however messy," says Maggie.

Tickets are $10. For tickets or more information about the play, click here.
