Message from the Athletic Director

We had multiple teams this past week that advanced to post-season playoffs. Our boys varsity soccer team lost a nail-biter that ended with penalty kicks, which concluded three hours of competition. The girls basketball team won convincingly on Thursday night against Damien Memorial School, but fell the following day to Saint Francis, ending their season. The boys basketball players are heading into their post season play next week. The highlight recently is our swimmers, the girls had their highest finish ever, in 4th place. See more details below.

Varsity Swimming-ILH Championships

Congratulations to all swimmers on a fantastic varsity championship meet. A special congratulations to both Skylar Webb (200 free) and Alana Barthel (200 IM) who both made new qualifying times. Alana also earned a medal with her 3rd place finish in the 100 breast. Alana defended her league crown in the 100 back and set new school records in both the 100 back and 200 IM in the process. India Spriggs posted season best times in the 50 free and 100 fly and once again improved to be a pivotal relay swimmer for the bulldogs! Sarah Tarquin dropped 2 seconds on her season best in the 100 breast over the course of the meet.On the boys side of things our relay team of Thomas Caps, Luke Faurot, Ethan Ravelo and Scott Parrish smashed the school record in the 200 medley relay. Unfortunately, due to an administrative error,  the record did not stand but they are sure to torch the record again in two weeks. Luke Faurot led the way with a 2nd place finish in the 100 breast. Thomas Caps was the highest placing freshman in both the 200 IM and 100 back (all except one swimmer who beat him was a senior). Ethan Ravelo smashed the boys final in both the 100 fly and 100 back, dropping more than a second off his best time in the 100 fly. Scott Parish came up big with a runner up finish in the B final of the 50 free.Next up is HHSAA championships on February 8-9 at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center.
