It's your chance to join in the fun and be a part of the PFA (Parent Faculty Association Board! It is a great experience to work with fellow LJA parents on projects that bring immediate smiles to the faces of our kids, their families and teachers.

If you have any questions about joining the PFA board or how to get involved in the many events the PFA supports, please email For PFA Job descriptions, click here. Nominations are now open – please volunteer and/or nominate someone that you think would be a great addition to the PFA board!

We're rolling out the red carpet! Join us for a meaningful evening to support the students of LJA! There are lots of ways to get involved:

Kaylee Gustafson '21 met with Food Service Manager Kyle Nakayama about her personal project idea, which involves enacting positive change for the LJA community by raising awareness about personal diets.

Kaylee proposed Meatless Mondays offering a meat-free lunch each week. She felt this would improve students diets, as well as help raise awareness on issues such as making healthy choices, the environmental impact of our food choices, and positively impacting sustainability efforts by conserving land, water and fossil fuels.

As a result, Kyle and Kaylee will partner to have Meatless Mondays at LJA beginning March.

LJA is co-sponsoring the HONOLULU Family Fun Run once again on March 2 from 7-9 a.m at Ala Moana Beach Park. We will have a booth at the finish line and we need volunteers! If you would like to come down to help at the booth, pass out bananas, and cheer on the runners, please email

Kennedy-Anne started at Le Jardin Academy at pre-Kindergarten and is a proud member of the 15-year club. She is a member of Wild Kids, the cross country team, A Capella, Student Council, the Green Team, Bulldog Builders, the Power to the Students Club and Poly Club.

"Wild Kids has been the best part of LJA for me -  it's a great program. I have loved the hiking as well as planning events and taking part in advocacy opportunities." The LJA community is another highlight for Kennedy-Anne, " it is loving and kind, and I like that I know so many students and faculty very well." she said.

Kennedy-Anne also loves Montana and will be attending the University of Montana.  She plans to major in Environmental Systems and Wilderness Studies and importantly, the programs at UM offer plenty of experiential education opportunities. And she looks forward to participating in activities related to outdoor leadership.

"I am so curious about what it will be like to live in the snow!" she said.

Enjoy it all, Kennedy-Anne, and we'll look forward to seeing you when you visit the sun and sand!
