Lower School Principal Message

Lower School Principal Message

This month starts our May Day rehearsals as we prepare for our program on May 1st for students in Kindergarten – grade 8. This is a beautiful event you do not want to miss. All students in grades K-8 are dismissed after the program concludes as we allow this to be a family day, while teachers will be on campus working on lesson planning. If your child is remaining on campus for Extended Day, please let your teacher know.

PRINCIPAL COFFEE - RESCHEDULED

Unfortunately, I have lost my voice from being a bit ill over break. I will send a new date next week for this coffee on sex ed curriculum!

I LOVE KAILUA – town party

April 28th is the annual I Love Kailua town party. We will have a sign up for those who would like to come volunteer to set up the event in collaboration with Outdoor Circle. Reserve the morning if you would like to help!

KEIKI WATER POLO

On Saturdays, there is Keiki Water Polo practice at Le Jardin. Cost is $180 for 12 sessions from 9:00 – 10:30. Please email nakagawae003@hawaii.rr.com for registration.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

The book fair is retuning next week; hours are open before, during and after school. All students will have a chance to visit during the school day as well with their class.

CLASSES NEXT YEAR

Students in the current grade 3 will be split into three classes again in grade 4 as we have many new students joining us next school year. As we look at the students in grade 1 (going into grade 2 next year), we will assess whether they will remain as two classes or split into three. At this time, it is too early to evaluate. Most likely, we will only have 2 kindergarten classes next year.

CONTRACTS 2019-20

If you are not returning to LJA next school year, please notify us as soon as possible. Some grade levels are full and it's important for us to know if we have spots for incoming applicants. Email me directly at majken.johansson@lejardinacademy.org.

Tooting my own horn! Last year's yearbook cover made it into Josten's annual Look Book. From over 2,000 yearbook submissions, Josten's featured the top 80 covers (among many other things) to showcase. Congratulations to the HS Yearbook staff and designer Maiya H! Hmmm. . .wonder what this year's book will look like. . .
