The Athletic Department is proud to announce that a whopping 79% of high school students at LJA participate in at least one sport. That's a very impressive percentage! Also, the average GPA for high school athletes at our school is 4.1. We have a lot to be proud of.

Kamalu Park will be joining Daniella Miranda-Johnson next year in the quarterly meetings and initiatives in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH). Kamalu is coming on board on the heels of current SAC president John Hellman, who has done an amazing job leading this group of students athletes from all of the ILH schools on the island. John is graduating and Kamalu will be taking his place. Please join me in welcoming Kamalu to the group!
Interesting Sports Facts Did you know that soccer shin guards date back to the Ancient Greeks and Romans? At that time, they were made from bronze and were worn for protection during battle. It wasn't until the 19th century that the purpose of shin guards shifted from battle gear to sporting equipment. Congratulations Varsity freshmen golfer, Dante Sbarbaro, qualified for the State Division I Golf Championships on the Big Island, May 9th and 10th. This is quite an accomplishment.
Save the Date May 14th is the Spring Sports Banquet in the Wang, starting at 5:30pm.
