![]() Message from the Athletic Director
We are pleased to announce that LJA received for the third year in a row, the HMSA Kaimana School Awards for small schools. The criteria for the award took into account the percentage of student athletes compared to the enrollment of the high school-we boast 79% of our students are also competing on one or more teams. Community service hours were also taken into consideration. Here we acquired more than 10,650 collective hours of work that gives back to the community. Sportsmanship, healthy activities (such as blood drives public service announcements and school fun runs) and academics (our athlete's average a 4.1 GPA) were the other factors considered. Way to go Bulldogs!

Interesting Sports Facts Feeling Blue is originally a sailing term.... If a ship lost its captain during a voyage, the sailors would sail blue flags, indicating their loss. So if you're feeling blue, you're actually referring to the blue flags that used to sign the ship's crew is in mourning.
Save the Date May 14th is the Spring Sports Banquet in the Wang, starting at 5:30pm.
