2.27.20 Lower School Principal Message Thank you all for the extremely thoughtful emails, texts and chats in the loop regarding my departure. I am touched by all of you and appreciate your well wishes as our family returns to Sweden. Mahalo!
MAP TESTING Next week starts MAP testing for students in grades 3-5. This is the first time many of them are exposed to a computerized standardized test. It takes several weeks to get through all students as well as complete make-up sessions. After they are complete, we will have a special coffee for you to learn how to interpret the scores and what they mean. Until then, click here for more information. The MAP data gives us information about our curriculum so we can analyze strengths and challenges as a whole.
BOOKS & BAGELS - MONDAY Time to celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday on Monday over books and bagels. On teacher Shutterfly accounts there will be a sign up to help bring in bagels, fruit, juiceā¦ etc. and we invite parents to the classrooms to spend the morning, snuggled up over a book. New for this year is that students in grades 4-5 will have a "read-in" where they lock down to read in their classrooms and parents in these grade levels are welcome to the Dahl for a very causal coffee. If you have children in multiple grade levels (for example grade 1 and 3) you can take both children to one classroom or an outside area to read. The event lasts from 7:45 – 8:30am.
