Shout Out To girls water polo for winning their first match of the regular season on Monday 3/2 at Punahou. They scored in overtime to beat Mid Pacific Institute 12-11. What a way to start the season girls! They also won their second game against Kamehameha on March 3rd, upsetting Kamehameha by a score of 3-2.
Spring Break Reminder It is highly discouraged that participants on spring sport teams take trips during the break. Missing team members at practices and games during the break leaves the team at a severe disadvantage. If plans have already been made and practices or games will be missed, please be sure to communicate this information with your coach well in advance of the break.
Freshmen John Ryan Myrdal plays in the first varsity tennis match of the season at Kamehameha on February 27th.
World Sprints Update Paddling On Saturday, February 29th, the Boys under 16 canoe paddling crew finished first and qualified to go to the World Sprints in August! Unfortunately, there was a terrible storm on Sunday and the Boys under 19 crew was not able to compete. The Sprints were canceled just a few races before the U19 crew were scheduled to race.
Sports Facts Water Polo was originally called 'Water Rugby' and it used to be played in the rivers and lakes in England.
