Student Distance Learning Success & Fun
6th Grade Fun With Math Grade 6 Math Students used geometric elements to create geometric art in celebration of Earth Day last week!
Loups en Voie de Disparition Erwin P. Artwork Description - 'Loups en Voie de Disparition' is an artwork that shows an image of a wolf. Wolves are endangered species and I always liked them since I was a little kid. Hence the reason I don't want them to die out and I want to raise awareness about endangered species. Earth day is an important international event that is happening in favor of the planet. It is the time where people share awareness about pollution, and dying out species, and even melting icebergs! The world needs us now, because we won't be able to take this back in 10 years. I used many geometric shapes in this artwork. The tite Malama o ka aina, is Hawaiian for "Take care of the Earth." Maila M. My title, " Malama o ka aina," is Hawaiian for "Take care of the Earth." This directly relates to Earth Day because on this designated day, people make an effort to go out and help clean up the planet, so that it stays healthy and alive. I feel very strongly about this because on our walks along Kalama Beach, I see so much trash, debris and microplastics literally covering the sand and the entire beach. It is so overwhelming and saddens me, but at the same time, it moves me to action, to want to DO something about it. That is why my artwork represents Earth Day because it shows the Earth with green land, healthy and vibrant plants, and pure blue water for a clean, unpolluted ocean. I tried to illustrate that the Earth becomes cleaner and nicer when humans make a conscious choice to give back to the Earth. Caring for the Earth is really important because this is the place where everyone grows up and lives. We should also keep the Earth healthy because we gather and use so many resources from this planet that gives us so much. It is our responsibility to pass the Earth on to future generations so that they in turn, can have a healthy environment to grow up and live in. Clean Ocean Vincent T. My title relates to earth day because we need clean oceans, no overfishing or pollution. My art represents earth day because all the fish were happy and not getting stuck in nets or eating plastic. Earth day is important to me because I love playing in the ocean and we need to maintain it to survive. I used an acute angle of about 34 degrees to represent the fin on one of my fish. I used a complete angle to represent my octopuses head. I used acute triangles for my needle fish tails. I think that art is more calculation because you have to measure and get perfect details and that takes a lot of calculation.
