FINANCIAL AID LEARNING MODELS FOR 2020-21 We are reviewing contingency plans for financial support and distance learning for next school year and will continue to make every effort to support families should school closure become necessary. The Board of Trustees has approved additional financial aid funding, and families are advised to apply for financial aid at any point in the year should financial hardship become a concern.
We are also looking at safeguards that will allow us to sustain face to face learning longer, and other models should we have to go into distance learning for periods of time that will allow flexibility for students who may need to learn from home while others learn at school. We will provide further information at the back to school meetings prior to the start of school. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNERS We are proud to announce this year's Academic Excellence Award winners, individuals who, by their performance and dedication, demonstrate the highest commitment to their roles! GRADUATION Tomorrow, May 30th, Le Jardin Academy's Class of 2020 will experience the first of it's kind graduation ceremony in LJA history. Speaking of history, the graduation ceremony was inspired by the Kailua Drive-In movie theatre that once resided on our campus grounds. The stage is set and ready to welcome our graduates and their families. Attendees will enjoy a movie, 'Graduation: The Movie' featuring Head of School Earl Kim, HS Principal Alex Ramsvig, Valedictorian Amelia Butala, Salutatorian Eva Ramm, and the Class of 2020 which was written/directed/produced by students with the help of Christina Hoe. Families will gather at the soccer field in marked socially-distanced sections for families of graduates to either sit or park.
Our ohana is invited to watch the ceremony online beginning at 7 p.m. at: https://www.lejardinacademy.org/community/lja-live-stream FONDEST ALOHA, LESLIE BINGHAM After 29 years of service at Le Jardin Academy, Junior School teacher Ms. Leslie Bingham has announced that she will retire at the end of this school year.
