As many of you already know, you will have a choice of attending Face-to-Face, on-campus learning or enrolling your child in Distance Learning this year. View the Lower School Distance Learning Guide for more information. If you are planning to opt into Distance Learning for the first quarter (August 12 Start of School to October 9 Fall Break) you must enroll by August 1.
We welcome you to attend the July 30 Parent Session via Zoom with Head of School Earl Kim and the August 4 Lower School Informational Night via Zoom.
Be sure to complete the Parent Checklist below before starting school this August!

P.S. In preparation for the new school year, ALL Lower School lockers in the E-building must be cleaned out by Friday, July 24. After that date, all locks will be cut off and lockers emptied. No contents will be held.
Parent Checklist – CRUCIAL FOR ATTENDANCE LANGUAGE CHOICE – ALL incoming Kindergarten, grade 1, grade 2 and NEW students
ALL FAMILIES: HEALTH FORMS Student medical forms should be submitted to Magnus Health through our Parent Portal (lejardinacademy.myschoolapp.com). Deadline is July 28 for all health forms (Grades PK-12). NEW FAMILIES should allow 20 to 30 minutes per student to fill out the entire set of forms and upload paper forms as required. Each year, parents will login and confirm or update each child's record. For RETURNING FAMILIES, most data entered into Magnus previously will only need to be confirmed or updated if changed, including immunizations records.
Follow these directions for accessing Magnus Health. If you need additional help logging into Magnus Health, please contact Melissa Handy at support@lejardinacademy.org. ALL STUDENTS - A checklist of items that should be uploaded into Magnus:
NEW STUDENTS All new students must submit Student Health Form 14. The Student Health Form 14 record must include a current physical and TB clearance. Hawaii State regulation prohibits attendance without these documents. These forms must be received PRIOR to the first day of school along with evidence of proper immunizations.
For your child's records we use Magnus Health, a web-based system used for managing health records. This system follows internationally recognized security standards and is HIPAA and FERPA compliant. Please feel free to visit the Magnus Health Privacy and Security page at www.magnushealth.com/privacy-and-security/.
SUPPLY LIST All K-5 students will need to bring 2 masks (labeled) per day in a zip top bag (labeled.) Masks are intended to be brought back and forth between home and school for regular cleaning. All learning supplies will be provided for you by the school.
SMART TUITION Please remember to sign into the SMART Tuition paperless billing and payment system. This is located in the Resources tab in the Parent Portal, which is the same portal where you signed enrollment contracts and entered Magnus Health. If you have difficulty logging in or need a password reset please email support@lejardinacademy.org.
For annual payers, the tuition payment is due July 15. For semi-annual payers, the first payment is due July 15 and the second payment due on December 15. For monthly payers, the first tuition payment is due August 15, and subsequent payments due on the 15th of every month through May. Looking Ahead NEW FAMILIES WELCOME We welcome NEW families on August 11th from 8:00-11:00am to meet the teachers and familiarize yourself with our campus. Kindergarten Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on August 10th and 11th (a sign up email is coming soon).
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES Besides Extended Day (open until 6:00 pm), we are currently assessing our offering of After School Activities. A separate email regarding these different offerings will be sent later this summer.
FIELD TRIP T-SHIRT/SPIRIT WEAR A field trip shirt is required to be worn on all field trips, unless otherwise specified by your teacher. Shirts and other LJA spirit items can be ordered from the Spirit Store starting August 3.
LUNCH ORDERS Sign up for lunch orders will open on August 3. All questions regarding the lunch program should be directed to Kyle Nakayama at kyle.nakayama@lejardinacademy.org.
EXTENDED DAY Extended Day (after school care) resumes on August 12. Click here for important details regarding the Extended Day Program. If you need after school care for your child, please contact Extended Day as soon as possible as the staff is based on attendance and some classes have filled in previous years due to late enrollments.
ATHLETICS Christian School Athletic League (grades 4 – 6) – ALL CSAL sports and seasons for the 2020-21 school year have been canceled by CSAL this year due to COVID-19. If alternate opportunities for volleyball or basketball present themselves at a later date, information will be sent out in a timely manner.
