Aloha Parents and Student Athletes,
We are planning to hit the ground running with Season 1 sports on January 5th, the day we get back from Christmas break. There will be decisive meetings at the HHSAA and ILH Board levels that happen over the vacation that will give clarity on this season. We are planning on all of our season 1 sports happening until we hear otherwise. There will be no preseason games or tournaments this year due to COVID. The first two weeks or so will involve practice and then we move quickly into a reduced game schedule for the regular season. State tournaments are highly unlikely but we're waiting for the official word on that from the HHSAA and Department of Health. Please have your sports physicals updated and be ready to begin. We continue to ask for flexibility as we get closer to these unprecedented times.

COVID Related -Parents please stay in your cars while waiting for practices to end. While LJA is in level 1+, we are minimizing people on campus, which includes spectators. -The self-screening link is done everyday by athletes, coaches and staff connected with Athletics at LJA. -The ILH is looking into live streaming options for next semester's regular season games. This will enable parents to watch competitions, since it remains doubtful that they will be able to attend games in person. -Hand washing is promoted during all water breaks and before practice begins, as an attempt to minimize risk. -In level 1+, masking is required indoors at all times. When outdoors and socially distanced, masking is not required. It also is not required in the pool, but all practices are socially distanced as well. -Masking will be required during participation in all sports (except water sports). -Transportation to and from contests and practices may not be available. There are limited options this year which may mean that parents will be needed for transportation assistance.
