Mr. Antonio-Barnes' MYP3 Design Students Working With The Bandsaw Today, Concentrating On Their Class Challenge To Recreate A 1950's Decorative Bird Ornament
6th Grade Student Design Posters This semester our 6th-grade Designers have focused their attention on the difficulties inherent with the transition from the PYP to MYP programs and the need to further develop academic, social, emotional, and physical skills to live balanced and healthy lives. These brand new middle schoolers have spent time learning about graphic design and together created a collection of original posters to motivate and educate on the actions needed to succeed in Middle School. Dear Parents & Students, As we look forward to the three day holiday weekend I encourage everyone to take time to reflect on the importance of Monday's national day of honoring Dr. Martin King's legacy of leadership for equality and peace in our world. As I mentioned in last week's communication I hold great hope and optimism that our students will continue to be part of and will see our country's progress towards a just, loving and peaceful world Dr. King eloquently spoke about decades ago. I also would like to encourage everyone to please continue to be vigilant and mindful of our social distancing and good hygiene practices in order to help keep our families and our community safe.
Have a Restful Weekend! Julie Do, MS Principal

As we begin a new semester, it is important to reflect on the past semester. As you look over grades and Approaches to Learning Skills (AtL), ask your son or daughter to consider each criterion in each class in a reflection. In general, a score of 4 or higher is considered a successful understanding of content. Looking at each criteria, how can you use the AtL Skills to increase your learning and ultimately your grade. Don't know what the specific AtL skills are? Check out this document that has all of the strands for reflection. There are a lot, so just focus on a few!
