In case you missed it, check out the recording of last week's Lower School Principal's Coffee to hear the middle and high school students share about their LJA experience! Save the date! Our next Principal's coffee will be on April 9 with a focus around student safety in the digital age.
Spring Break is nearly two weeks away. If you are traveling out of state, please be sure to check our travel policies below and email school.nurse@lejardinacademy.org and lisa.ventura@lejardinacademy.org of your travel dates.
February flew by fast and with lots of March events just around the corner, be sure to see the important reminders and dates in this Weekly.
Aloha, Leah
P.S. - We are doing awesome at the morning self-screenings! Thank you Lower School parents! Keep up the great work!
UPCOMING EVENTS STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES Student Led Conferences are scheduled for Monday, March 8. There is no school on this day for Lower School students. You received an email on Friday February 19 to sign up. Be sure to sign up if you haven't already! RE-ENROLLMENT CONTRACTS Signed re-enrollment contracts are due by March 1. We have a high volume of applications this year and decisions to make in the coming weeks about staffing, numbers, and structure, so understanding your plans and intentions is critical to our planning efforts. If you have any questions about your contract or what's in store for next year, please reach out! GR 3-5 SWIMMING FOR P.E. Swimming will begin right after spring break starting on March 22 and ending on April 30. SPRING BREAK TRAVEL If your child will be traveling out of state in the near future, you must inform school.nurse@lejardinacademy.org and lisa.ventura@lejardinacademy.org. You will need to provide test results (5-8 days following your return) in order to return to school. Current guidelines call for students to take an approved, pre-travel PCR test and register through the State app. A 10-day isolation or a second, negative PCR test, 5-8 days following return to Oahu is required for your child to return to campus. In the Lower School, Distance Learning is not offered for those unable to attend face to face learning due to elective travel. Like in the past, you may reach out to your child's teacher for work to be sent home ahead of time. Testing/isolation is not required for interisland travel at this time. For more information, view the full student travel policy (pages 8-9). Continue to monitor school communications for any updates that may affect your travel plans.
