Aloha Junior School Parents,
We hope you are having a safe and enjoyable summer! I want to thank you for selecting Le Jardin Academy as the school of choice for your child. We are excited to have your child join us and are busy preparing for the start of the school year in August.
The Junior School (JS) curriculum is based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and for LJA, this means that teaching and learning will engage children in active and inquiry-based learning. The program focuses on the total growth of the developing child, encompassing their social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs in addition to academic development. Our approach to pre-reading, pre-writing, and mathematical concepts instruction has been developed from the best teaching practices. You will find detailed information about the curriculum and program in your introductory package, shared at the first teacher conference.
Below is some information you'll need to help you have a successful start of the school year.
STUDENT MEDICAL FORMS All new Junior School students must submit Student Health Form 14 and Preschool Supplement Form 908. The Student Health Form 14 record must include a current physical and TB clearance dated within 12 months or TB Document G: State of Hawaii TB Risk Assessment for Adults and Children. Hawaii State regulation prohibits attendance without these documents. These forms must be received PRIOR to the first day of school along with evidence of immunizations.
Le Jardin Academy Magnus Health to manage student health forms. For access, log onto MySchoolApp and click on the Magnus Health icon. Please allow 20 to 30 minutes per student to fill out the required forms and upload required documents required. You will login and confirm or update each child's record annually prior to the start of school in the years to come.
A separate email providing directions to access Magnus Health will be sent by July 2. Please enter the required health information for each child attending LJA no later than July 22.

CLASS ASSIGNMENT AND INTRODUCTORY CONFERENCE Class assignments and your child's group-start date will be emailed to you the week of August 3. Between August 4 and August 8, you will receive a phone call from your child's homeroom teacher inviting you to a parent-student-teacher introductory conference on August 9, 10 or 11. Please complete our School Questionnaire and bring the completed form to your introductory conference. You will also be asked to bring:

START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR To allow for a smooth transition, the JS begins the year with a staggered day schedule which divides students into two groups. Group 1 will attend on Thursday, August 12 and Group 2 will attend on Friday, August 13. For these first two half-group days, the Pre-K students will be dismissed at 11:20 a.m. and the JK students will be dismissed at 2:20 p.m. All students will return to school on Monday, August 16 for the first full day of school. Extended Day starts on August 16 for the children who are registered.
Pre-Kindergarten (3-4 year olds) regular hours are 7:30 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. for half-day and 7:30-2:20 p.m. for full day. Junior Kindergarten (4-5 year olds) regular hours are 7:30 a.m. – 2:20 p.m. All drop offs and dismissals take place in the front courtyard.

In addition to Extended Day, additional afterschool activities are offered by external vendors. A separate email with dates and registrations for these activities are sent in September.

TUITION PAYMENTS Please remember to sign into the SMART Tuition paperless billing and payment system. This is located in the Resources tab in the Parent Portal (MySchool App) and is the same portal used for signing enrollment contracts. If you have difficulty logging in or need a password reset please email support@lejardinacademy.org. Tuition payment deadlines:
