PERIODIC SCREENING TESTING In accordance with LJA's Vaccination and Testing Policy and as an added layer of mitigation, a Periodic Screening Testing Procedure will be implemented for students and staff beginning September 29. Participation in the Periodic Screening Testing Program is required in order to participate in in-person learning and activities. Students who do not participate in the Testing Program must remain at home until LJA's Response Level drops to Level 1+. Student work will be sent home, however no distance learning will be provided.
All parents will receive a Periodic Screening Opt-Out Form via email (through Adobe Sign) on Friday, September 17. If you do not want your child to participate in testing and will keep your child at home, you must complete this form by Friday, September 24. If you plan for your child to participate in Periodic Screening Testing, no action is required.

PFA TEACHER SNACK ATTACK IS BACK LJA's Parent Faculty Association is bringing back its Teacher Snack Attack! They are asking parents to show your appreciation for our teachers by signing up to donate food, beverages and other items. The goal is to stock each division's lounge with a variety of goodies to acknowledge their good work. MEDICAL HUI SPOTLIGHT Dr. Susan Christensen is an LJA Alumni Parent and Current Parent '17, '20, and '27, Physician at Trade Winds Family Medicine, and valued member of LJA's Medical Hui.
A board certified family medicine physician, Dr. Christensen received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She moved to the northeast for her Residency in southern New Jersey; moved to Hawai'i over 15 years ago, and joined Trade Winds in November 2017. PARENTS' TURN TO LEARN Join us for an evening of learning about LJA, the IB approach, and how to best support your child. This event consists of a keynote presentation and two break-out sessions of your choosing. We will be releasing the break-out session menu in next week's LJA Weekly. STUDENT TRAVEL DECLARATION FORM Families planning for out-of-state travel must complete the Student Travel Declaration Form to notify the School Nurse of their plans. Your kōkua helps to accurately track travel and related COVID testing in order to keep campus as safe as possible. If you have any questions, please contact your division representatives or email school.nurse@lejardinacademy.org. COVID REPORTING AND HEALTH QUESTIONS If you have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, need to report a positive case, or have any COVID-19 related questions, please email school.nurse@lejardinacademy.org immediately. The school nurse can help to arrange rapid testing and will notify the DOH.
