Aloha Junior School 'Ohana, Despite the rocky start to 2022 with the influx of cases, I'm impressed and proud with our community's response to the ebbs and flows that have emerged this month. It's a relief to have our students back on campus with us this week and it's been a joy to walk around and see the learning, exploration, and fun that's taking place. This week in kanikapila with Mr.M we have been working on asking a friend "What is your name?" or "'O wai kou inoa?" and practicing our response of "'O <name> ko'u inoa". In the coming weeks we will also explore the question "Pehea 'oe?" or "How are you?" and discover different ways to respond to this question. As we move through the rest of the month of January we have some exciting events on the horizon as well as our first semester report cards coming out. Keep an eye out in your email for a digital copy of your child's report card and, of course, be sure to celebrate their successes from this first semester. We are thankful to have you all a part of our community and again send a humble mahalo nui for doing all you do to keep our students and staff safe. Together we can maneuver through difficult times and emerge with success in the end. 'A'ohe hana nui ke alu 'ia - "No task is too big when done together by all" Me ka ha'aha'a, Josh Masagatani |
