Aloha Junior School 'Ohana, What a festive few weeks here at the Junior School! Our students had an amazing time celebrating Valentine's day, celebrating love and aloha and sharing valentines with their classmates and teachers. The PK kiddos enjoyed a fancy Valentines themed tea party where they enjoyed an array of treats and refreshments. We continued the festivities through the week as we officially celebrated Lunar New Year on campus! Students enjoyed campus decorations, popped packing poppers to ward off bad luck, and even experienced a Lion Dance as it moved throughout our campus. Celebrations aren't the only thing going on at the JS as our PK kiddos participated in their inquiry on bridges, using the design cycle to create structures that were strong enough to hold a load. In JK our students are hard at work continuing their inquiry into letters and sounds as well as getting dirty in their newly tilled garden! Mahalo nui to our Garden Committee for their hard work on getting things cleaned and prepped for us! Looking ahead we will be observing Presidents Day on February 21 and our spring break will take place March 14-March 18. I wish everyone a wonderful and safe weekend! Mahalo Nui Loa, Josh Masagatani |
