GRADES 10-11 PSAT/NMSQT
During the week of Oct. 23, students in grades 10 and 11 will take the PSAT/NMSQT. The test will be administered on campus and proctored by the students' advisors. Students will test on Bluebook, College Board's new digital testing app. Time will be provided in school to download the app as well as review practice PSAT questions. In the event your student would like to download the app now and practice with the new platform, you can navigate to this site on the College Board website.
PSAT stands for Preliminary SAT and NMSQT stands for National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The PSAT/NMSQT measures students' skills and preparedness for college prior to students taking the standard SAT exam (typically in the spring of the 11th grade and/or fall of 12th grade). Many colleges require the SAT as part of the admissions process; the PSAT test is the "practice test" to help students experience the type of test and requirements of the SAT. Students will receive individual PSAT score reports directly from the College Board. Juniors will automatically be entered into the academic competition for recognition and college scholarships after completing the PSAT/NMSQT. Students at LJA take this exam free of charge.
Additional information will be provided once the 2023-24 school year begins.
