COVID-19 Vaccines

Aloha,

LJA has been monitoring guidance from our colleagues at HAIS and DOH and is working to assemble a vaccine education and distribution program that will support LJA faculty and staff. This work is being done in collaboration with members of the LJA Medical Hui.

In the meantime, we have received information that Castle Medical Center is now offering appointments for Covid-19 vaccines for teachers, educational support staff (childcare, early education, K-12), and individuals who are 75 years and over who live and/or work in Windward, O’ahu. See attached flyer for more information. If you receive the vaccination, we ask that you forward a copy of your vaccine card (see attached sample) to school.nurse@lejardinacademy.org so that we can monitor vaccination rates for faculty and staff.

The goal of our education and distribution program is to ensure that the LJA community is optimally informed about all aspects of the vaccine, as well as to facilitate access to the vaccine for employees. With the majority of our community vaccinated we will all benefit from an additional layer of protection as part of our multifaceted mitigation strategy. We expect to have more details to share by the end of next week.

Mahalo,

Earl
