In your estate plans, you can make a bequest to LJA by designating a portion of your estate as a gift to the School in your will or living trust. Or, you can also designate Le Jardin Academy as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy. These gifts cost you nothing now and provide support for LJA's future.

A bequest is a gift from your estate -- a transfer of cash, securities, or other property -- made through your estate plans. A bequest costs you nothing now and enables you to contribute to Le Jardin Academy’s excellence far into the future.

How to Make a Bequest

It is simple to include Le Jardin Academy in your estate plans. You can include LJA when creating a new will or living trust instrument, or update an existing instrument to include your gift designation.

While you may not know what the future holds, you likely know why Le Jardin Academy is important to you. After taking care of your family, you can add a bequest for Le Jardin Academy for a specific dollar amount or percentage of your remaining estate. A bequest can reflect your interests by specifying an area of focus, such as program excellence, scholarship, or innovation. Sample bequest language is provided below to aid in your planning.

Sample Bequest Language

I hereby bequeath the sum of $_____ or _____% of my estate to Le Jardin Academy (Federal Tax ID number 99-0146978), at 917 Kalanianaole Highway, Kailua, HI 96734, to be used in support of its general endowment fund (or specify desired program).

If, in the judgement of the Board of Trustees, changed circumstances at some future time render the designated intention of this gift no longer appropriate, the Board shall use this gift to further the interests of Le Jardin Academy with special consideration of my original intent as evidenced by the purposes I’ve described above.

Restrict Your Bequest

All gifts from bequests are allocated to Le Jardin Academy’s unrestricted general endowment fund unless otherwise directed by the donor and agreed upon by the School. If you wish to restrict your bequest to an existing fund or program of interest, we can help you ensure that the School is able to fulfill your intentions.
