Flexible Furniture for Lower School
n/a

All students in Kinder – Grade 5 have flexible learning furniture. This allows for natural collaboration to occur and allows student agency as students choose how to best learn. When students are sitting at isolated, assigned desks, we fail to teach the students to make responsible choices or give them ownership of the classroom community. Flexible seating means students may be lying on the floor, utilizing a floor table to collaborate with a peer or using a stand-up desk to allow for movement. This flexibility allows students to physically decide how they learn best and gives students control to improve student engagement.
