Gianna Sbarbaro '19 honored as ILH (Interscholastic League of Honolulu) Runner of the Year.

"I am very humbled to have received the recognition as ILH Runner of the year. It was certainly an amazing way to end my senior cross country season," says Gianna. "This accomplishment is especially meaningful to me as well because I've been on the LJA cross country team for 5 years, and all of that time, effort, and dedication helped me to finish the season strong."

Gianna adds, "Something that makes our team unique is that the entire team stays for the whole duration of the meet. People don't just show up for their event and then leave; everyone rides the buses together and cheers for all divisions. For me, seeing my supportive teammates halfway through the race when I wanted to stop really motivated me to keep going."
