Congratulations to all nine of the Bulldog competitors who swam at the HHSAA State Championships on Feb. 8-9. There were many highlights. Leading the charge was Alana Barthel '21 who won the girls 100 back event coming within a half second of the state record in the process. Luke Faurot '19 capped a fantastic career by placing runner up in the 100 breaststroke and Thomas Caps '22 just started his career by placing 4th in the 200 IM (he was the only freshman in the top 8 and the three who beat him were all seniors). Ethan Ravelo '21 had a huge drop in the 100 back to earn a medal. Caps, Faurot, and Ravelo teamed up with Scott Parrish '20 to place 3rd in the 200 free relay and 5th in the 400 free relay. On the girls side, India Spriggs '19 capped a fantastic career by teaming up with Skylar Webb '21 and Sarah Tarquin '22 and Lana Ravelo to take 7th place in the 200 free relay. Spriggs, Barthel, Tarquin and Ravelo teamed up for the 400 free relay to earn a medal. Great job to the Bulldog swim team. The boys team managed to walk away with a 6th place team finish with all the schools in front of us all having enrollments at least 5 times as much as us.
